<p><em>The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed academic writing, especially among English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students. While tools like ChatGPT, QuillBot, and Grammarly support language learning, their misuse has led to increased academic dishonesty. This study investigates how AI contributes to such dishonesty and explores institutional strategies to address it. Using a qualitative descriptive approach through desk research, the study reviews literature from academic sources. Findings show that dishonesty occurs both intentionally and unintentionally, often due to low AI literacy and lack of ethical guidelines. Students tend to overuse AI for paraphrasing, grammar checks, or full-text creation, reducing critical thinking and engagement. In response, institutions are advised to implement AI policies, promote AI literacy, apply process-based assessment, and train lecturers in ethical AI use. These measures aim to uphold academic integrity and ensure AI enhances learning.</em></p>Rizki AlysaLukman Syahbana

<p>The word Ya’ahowu is a distinctive greeting used by the people of Nias, carrying deep meaning and strong cultural values. This study aims to explore the meaning, function, and social significance of Ya’ahowu as a symbol of love and cultural identity within the Nias community. The research employs a literature review method, analyzing various sources such as journals, books, and scholarly articles related to the language and culture of Nias. The findings reveal that Ya’ahowu is not merely a simple salutation but embodies a prayer and well-wishes for the person being greeted. Its primary functions extend beyond social interaction, encompassing cultural and emotional roles that strengthen interpersonal relationships and foster social solidarity. Moreover, Ya’ahowu reflects core values such as affection, respect, and a strong spirit of brotherhood. In today’s modern context, this greeting remains relevant and holds potential as a symbol of cultural diplomacy and a tool for preserving the local language. In conclusion, Ya’ahowu is an important intangible cultural heritage that must be preserved. It serves not only as a means of communication but also as a representation of the unique values of love and peace inherent to the Nias people.</p>Darmawan Harefa

<p>Local wisdom plays a vital role in preserving cultural identity, fostering social harmony, and strengthening a community’s sense of belonging. Within the educational context, integrating local wisdom into learning activities creates meaningful connections between theoretical knowledge and the cultural realities experienced by students in their daily lives. This approach not only promotes contextual learning but also nurtures students’ appreciation of their heritage. This article explores the incorporation of <strong>Nias local wisdom</strong> into the <strong>Problem-Based Learning (PBL)</strong> model as a strategy to enhance both academic achievement and character formation. The Nias community possesses rich traditions, social values, and problem-solving practices rooted in cooperation, respect, and responsibility. By embedding these elements into the PBL framework, students are encouraged to engage in authentic learning experiences that mirror real-life challenges while reflecting their cultural identity. The findings show that the integration of Nias local wisdom within PBL significantly improves students’ cognitive, affective, and social competencies. Students demonstrate increased motivation, collaboration, and critical thinking, while also developing empathy and respect for cultural diversity. Moreover, this approach enriches the learning environment by linking education to the community’s cultural context. <p>This study explores the use of Quizizz as a digital-based formative assessment tool in English Language Teaching (ELT). The research aims to analyze how Quizizz supports student engagement, motivation, and assessment efficiency. Employing a qualitative approach through library research, data were collected from scholarly journals, books, and credible online sources. Descriptive-analytical methods were used to examine Quizizz's features in relation to formative assessment principles. Findings reveal that Quizizz enhances student participation through gamification, real-time feedback, and automated scoring. It also fosters motivation and self-reflection, supporting a student-centered learning environment. Moreover, the platform improves assessment efficiency by reducing grading time and providing instant insights. The study concludes that Quizizz is not just a game-based platform but a strategic educational tool aligned with formative assessment objectives.
